Why families leaving Florida pick a Tampa Bay team, not an 800-number.
It stays in the family — never brokered
Most "movers" in the search results are brokers — websites that auction your move to whoever pays for the lead, which is where the horror stories (tripled prices, held-hostage furniture) come from. Your move never leaves our family of companies: Big Boys Moving books and coordinates it, and our sister company Florida Main Movers — a licensed interstate carrier — performs it. Same Tampa office, one accountable team.
A binding price, before we load
Your quote is written and not-to-exceed. Federal rules already cap collections on non-binding interstate estimates at 110% — we skip the fine print entirely: the number we sign is the most you pay.
One crew, door to door
Your move rides as its own job with the crew that loaded it — not consolidated into a national van-line trailer with three other households and a three-week window. You get a delivery window in writing.
$100 holds your date
Not the 25–30% deposit broker sites demand (a federal consumer-alert red flag). One hundred dollars locks your date and truck, and it's credited to your move.
Big Boys Moving & Storage and Florida Main Movers are one Tampa family of companies — local moves since 2005, interstate moves under Florida Main Movers’s federal authority (U.S. DOT No. 4426579).
Tampa Bay already trusts us with moving day.
“I recently used Big Boys Moving for a move from a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house, and I couldn't be happier with their service.”
“I recently had the pleasure of working with Big Boys Moving for a commercial relocation of our business, and I couldn't be more satisfied with their services.”
“They were efficient and very professional. I recommend using Big Boys Moving to all of my family and friends in the Tampa Bay area.”
Out-of-state moving, answered straight.
How much does it cost to move out of Florida?
Most 2–3 bedroom homes leaving Tampa Bay land between $2,000 and $6,800 depending on distance and how much you're moving — see the route table above for real market ranges. Your exact price comes from a free 20-minute video walkthrough, and it's issued in writing as a binding quote.
Who actually performs my move?
Your move is performed by our sister company, Florida Main Movers — a licensed interstate carrier (U.S. DOT No. 4426579, MC 1752806) based in the same Tampa office. Big Boys Moving books and coordinates it; the same family of companies handles it start to finish. Nothing is sold or brokered to strangers.
Are you a moving broker?
No. Brokers auction your move to whichever carrier pays for the lead — that's where the horror stories come from. Here, one family of companies handles everything: Big Boys Moving takes your booking, and our sister carrier Florida Main Movers drives it under its own federal interstate authority.
How can you give me an exact price without coming to my house?
You walk your home with your phone camera on a scheduled video call — about 20 minutes, evenings fine. We build your inventory from it and send a written binding quote, usually within 24 hours. No stranger in your house, no guessing.
Can the price change on delivery day?
Not upward past what we put in writing. You get a binding (not-to-exceed) quote before we load. Federal rules for interstate moves also cap what any mover can collect at delivery on a non-binding estimate at 110% of it — but our standard is simpler: the number we sign is the most you pay.
How long will my furniture take to arrive?
Most Southeast deliveries (Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolinas) run 1–4 days; Texas and the Northeast 2–5; cross-country 3–7. You get a delivery window in writing before we load — not a shrug and a range that keeps moving.
Is my stuff on a truck with other people's moves?
Your move travels as its own job, door to door, with the crew that loaded it. We don't hand your home to a national van line's consolidation network.
How much is the deposit?
$100 holds your date and your truck, and it's credited to your move. The 25–30% deposits you see from broker websites are exactly the red flag federal consumer alerts warn about.
What if something is damaged?
Every interstate move includes released-value coverage, and Full Value Protection is offered on every quote — we'll walk you through both before you book. Claims go through our family of companies directly, and the performing carrier participates in a federal arbitration program.
How far in advance should I book an out-of-state move?
Out-of-state moves book 4–12 weeks ahead — earlier for end-of-month dates and summer. If your date is close, call us: short-notice interstate moves are often possible, they just need a phone call instead of a form.
